Heavyweight graphic tees

Fabric weight is the single biggest difference between a tee that looks good for one season and one that still looks good in three years. Heavyweight cotton, generally 6 oz and above, is opaque, holds a defined shoulder line, and resists the sagging neck and thinning body that lighter shirts develop.

It also drapes rather than clings, which is why heavyweight is the standard base for streetwear and oversized graphic tees. The trade-offs are warmth and a longer drying time.

Heavyweight graphic tees FAQ

What weight counts as heavyweight?

Roughly 6 oz per square yard and up. Standard tees sit around 4.2-5.3 oz. The weight is listed on each product page.

Are heavyweight tees too warm for summer?

In strong heat, yes — they hold more warmth. They are best from spring through autumn, or indoors in air conditioning.

Do they soften over time?

Yes. Heavyweight cotton starts firmer and breaks in over the first several washes without losing structure.

Do heavyweight tees shrink more?

Not more, but shrinkage is more noticeable because the fit is more structured. Wash cold and dry low.
